New NCC website launched

A snapshot of the key health issues facing Norfolk is available on a new-look website.

Statistics on life expectancy, smoking and other key issues are included in the website developed by Norfolk County Council: www.norfolkinsight.org.uk/jsna

Dr Louise Smith, Norfolk’s director of public health, said:  “This easy to use website gives you all the information you need on the county’s health. It helps the council and its partners identify trends and issues and then develop the right information campaigns, support and services to tackle them.”

Norfolk’s health and wellbeing board, which represents council, NHS and other key bodies, received a demonstration of the new website when it met on Wednesday 24 April.

The information comes from the joint strategic needs assessment (JSNA) – an on-line picture of the health and wellbeing of the people of Norfolk and the issues which affect their needs, inequalities and services.

The Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) is a statutory requirement as part of the Health and Social Care Act 2012. It provides data and analyses on the health status and trends needed to inform the development and implementation of the Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy (JHWBS).
