Safeguarding

All partners within the Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care System have safeguarding obligations.

As the Integrated Care Board for Norfolk and Waveney, we have a statutory responsibility to ensure that the organisations from which we commission health and care services provide a safe system that safeguards children and adults who are at risk of abuse or neglect.

We are an active member of both the Norfolk Safeguarding Children Partnership, the Norfolk Safeguarding Adults Board, and the Suffolk Safeguarding Partnership. We routinely promote and share information to support awareness raising of safeguarding risks, and resources to support prevention and, where necessary, escalation of safeguarding concerns.

We support health partners with resources to help them meet their safeguarding obligations including development of template policies, guidance, and safeguarding campaign resources.

In addition, we also assist local, regional, and national agencies to undertake safeguarding investigations and reviews where required, such as supporting Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews, the Child Death Overview process, and Domestic Homicide Reviews.
