About the CCG
NHS Great Yarmouth and Waveney Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), is responsible for buying health services for around 239,500 people living in Great Yarmouth and Waveney. It was set up in April 2013 to put GPs and nurses at the heart of decision-making about local healthcare and replaced Great Yarmouth and Waveney Primary Care Trust.
The CCG is responsible for planning safe, high-quality health services and agreeing contracts with hospitals, community services and other organisations to provide care within budget. It is made up of all 21 GP practices in Great Yarmouth and Waveney. Eight GPs and one nurse are retained to work with the CCG to make sure decisions made about local health care will meet the needs of local people.
The CCG’s aim is to buy services which deliver better health, better care and better value for everyone in Great Yarmouth and Waveney.
